January 8, 1938: Established as Apostolic Prefecture of Morondava from the Apostolic Vicariate of Fianarantsoa, Apostolic Vicariate of Majunga and Apostolic Vicariate of Tananarive
September 14, 1955: Promoted as Diocese of Morondava
